fired plants yet they believe that these "out of control" forest fires are good!!? What the heck is this country comin to?
Crapser said a number of fires have started in the state, but firefighters have been able to hold most of them to under an acre. Most of those small fires have occurred in the south end of the Bighorn Mountains, he said.
Living in these areas where fires are "allowed to burn at will" leaves a little bit to be desired! Because the Enviro's decided that it is a GOOD thing to allow fires to burn (their "Let It Burn Policy"), we nearby residents have to live and work in these areas. Nearly Every Year, the visibility in our valley here is down to about a mile, our breathing is restricted, and our guests complain about their health and breathing in all this smoke! Most of these people who write this stuff live in Washington DC, New York etc and don't have to experience it! What a farce they are pushing the "global warming" concept, and want everyone to believe that it is because of increased Carbon Dioxide in the Atmosphere because of burning fossil fuels want the country to shut down coal Cortez Nike Vintage

While large fires burn in other western states, Wyoming's fire season has been rather tame so far thanks to favorable weather conditions.

If you all like this "regional haze" that the EPA is blaming on aging coal fired power plants remember that they as the EPA own these regional forest fires because they are also tasked with the build up of those fuels on the ground. Their partisan politics have been at the core of wildfire destruction, hundreds of millions of dollars in costs to fight and loss of life, or as it is called in the real world negligent homicide. I never could have imagined I would live long enough to see a government as deceitful as this. "I hate to use the term luck, but we've been really lucky with the weather patterns and with the fire starts we've had," State Forester Bill Crapser said Wednesday.
"The western part of the state is drier and having a little bit more activity, but overall it's been a pretty favorable summer for us," Crapser said.

Forest. Last year, the state saw fires burn areas as large as 150 square miles.
The main difference from last year is the lack of dry lightning, or storms that have little rain but numerous lightning strikes, he said.

What would you rather have happen? Spend millions of dollars on fighting fires in wilderness and/or minimally developed areas, risk humans lives (see Yarnell Hill Fire, Storm King/South Canyon fire, 30 Mile Fire, etc.), waste critical resources and divert them from more pressing needs, and to protect what? Drought stricken and beetle killed forest and some cabins, or even homes, at the wildland/suburban interface, where people take ridiculous risks to live (akin to living on flood plains), and should have to accept those risks accordingly? Or, to protect your air quality, when you decided to live in the middle of what sounds like a forested area that does (and should) burn cyclically? Seriously? The country is finally "comin to" a reasonable attitude about not fighting some wildfires that's what the country is "comin to". And it's high time. The "suppress all fires at all costs" game was about as successful as the war on drugs, if not quite as costly in dollars and lives.

In Utah, a lightning sparked wildfire outside the resort town of Park City has destroyed more than a dozen homes and is threatening hundreds of others.
Crapser estimated that fires this summer have consumed a total of about 10,000 acres, or 15 square miles, across the state. That's a far cry from the 1,300 to 1,400 fires last year that burned about 700,000 acres, or more than 1,000 square miles.
